Terms of use
Effective 13 October 2026
ApnaMate has three connected services: local buying and selling, jobs, and rooms. These Terms cover all three.
1. Your agreement
These Terms apply to ApnaMate Marketplace, Jobs, Rooms, profiles, messaging, saved content, reports and paid highlights. You must be able to form a binding agreement in Australia and provide accurate account information. By creating an account or using ApnaMate, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and applicable ApnaMate policies.
2. One account, your responsibility
Keep your password and verification codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account and must promptly report unauthorised access. You may not impersonate another person, evade a restriction, scrape ApnaMate, automate abusive activity or interfere with security controls.
3. Marketplace
Marketplace users must advertise only items they lawfully possess or are authorised to sell. Listings must be accurate, use genuine photos, state the real condition and comply with the Prohibited Items Policy and Australian product-safety laws. ApnaMate connects users; it is not the buyer, seller, delivery provider or payment escrow service for ordinary Marketplace transactions.
4. Jobs
Employers must advertise genuine roles, comply with workplace, anti-discrimination and minimum-pay laws, and accurately identify the employer and work. Job seekers and employers must not request recruitment fees, money transfers, gift cards, cryptocurrency payments, unnecessary identity documents or unpaid work that is really productive employment.
5. Rooms
Room listings must be genuine, available to the advertiser and accurately describe rent, bond, bills, availability and shared facilities. Exact addresses are private and may be released only through ApnaMate’s approved address-request flow. Users remain responsible for inspections, identity checks, tenancy or occupancy agreements and compliance with the law in their state or territory.
6. Messages, reviews and conduct
Harassment, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, spam, phishing, malicious links and requests for passwords or verification codes are prohibited. Reviews must arise from an eligible ApnaMate interaction and reflect an honest experience. Blocking stops new messages but does not erase legitimate historical records.
7. Highlights and payments
Highlighting is optional. An eligible listing may be highlighted for A$4.99 only after the user selects it and payment is verified server-side. The promotion duration is shown before payment and is controlled by ApnaMate’s current settings. Highlighting does not guarantee views, enquiries, a sale, a hire or a tenancy.
8. Moderation and safety
ApnaMate may automatically screen text, place content or images into a moderation queue, investigate reports, limit creation or messaging rates, preserve relevant evidence, remove content and restrict or suspend accounts. A report does not guarantee a particular outcome. Serious or urgent matters should also be reported to the appropriate authority.
9. Account deletion and retained records
You can delete your account in Profile settings after confirming your identity. ApnaMate removes uploaded images, disables sign-in, removes active posts and de-identifies the public profile. Limited payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, safety or legal records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary.
10. Availability and liability
ApnaMate is provided on an as-available basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, ApnaMate is not responsible for user content, the quality or legality of an item, employment outcome, room arrangement or off-platform transaction.
11. Changes and contact
Material changes will be communicated appropriately and carry a new effective date. If you do not accept a change, stop using ApnaMate and delete your account. Questions can be sent through ApnaMate support.
