Rooms safety
Inspect first. Pay second.
ApnaMate hides the exact address until the room owner approves a request, but approval is not verification of ownership or legitimacy.
Rental-scam warning signs
- The advertiser refuses an inspection or says they are overseas but demands a bond or rent first.
- The price is far below similar rooms and you are pressured to act immediately.
- You are asked to send money by cryptocurrency, gift card, wire transfer or a payment link outside a trusted service.
- The photos or description appear copied, inconsistent or linked to a different address.
- You are asked for a passport, driver licence or bank login before verifying the property and advertiser.
Safer steps
Keep communication in ApnaMate. Inspect in person or use a trusted representative. Confirm who controls the property, read the agreement, understand bond handling in your state or territory, and do not send unnecessary identity documents. If money was sent to a scammer, contact your bank immediately.
