Jobs safety
A job should not cost you money
Verify the employer independently using contact details from its official website or public register. Do not rely only on details supplied in a message.
Employment-scam warning signs
- High pay for little work, with no credible interview or employer verification.
- A request to pay an application, training, equipment, visa or background-check fee to an unknown recipient.
- Instructions to receive or transfer money, buy gift cards or cryptocurrency, or reship parcels.
- Pressure to move immediately to an encrypted app and avoid normal company channels.
- Requests for bank logins, passwords, verification codes or identity documents before the employer is verified.
Before accepting
Confirm the legal employer, role, location, pay basis and employment type. Check the pay against Fair Work information. Never use your bank account to move money for an employer. Report suspicious messages or job pages in ApnaMate and block the sender if needed.
