Key Responsibilities

As a Carer / Support Worker, your duties may include:

• Personal Care: Assisting clients with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
• Daily Living Assistance: Supporting clients with meal preparation, feeding, household cleaning, laundry, and everyday activities.
• Mobility Support: Assisting with safe transfers, walking, mobility aids, and fall prevention.
• Companionship: Providing emotional support, social interaction, and meaningful engagement to improve clients’ overall well-being.
• Community Participation: Accompanying clients to appointments, shopping trips, recreational activities, and community outings.
• Medication Assistance: Supporting medication routines where appropriately trained and authorised.
• Monitoring & Documentation: Reporting changes in clients’ health, behaviour, and well-being while maintaining accurate care records.
• Safety & Dignity: Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment while protecting client privacy and independence.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential

• A caring, patient, respectful, and professional attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong time-management skills.
• Willingness to undergo relevant background and employment checks.
• Valid Australian working rights.

Highly Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Support, or a related qualification.
• Previous experience in aged care, disability support, home care, or community services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, where applicable.
• National Police Check.
• Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Nursing students with relevant clinical placement experience are encouraged to apply.
